Speakers H.E. Mr. Nawaf Al-Mowada

Nawaf bin Mohammed Al-Mowada was appointed on 13 June 2022 as the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf.


Previous Roles:

  • He was previously the Ministry of Interior Ombudsman from 2012 to 2022 and served as the Chairman of the Prisoners and Detainees
  • Rights Commission from 2013 to 2022.
  • The Director-General of the Publications and Publishing Department at the Information Affairs Authority from 2011 to 2012.
  • Chief Public Prosecutor with the rank of Chief Justice (2010 -2011).
  • Chief Public Prosecutor at the High Court (2009-2010).
  • Chief Public Prosecutor with the rank of judge in the High Civil Court in the Technical Office of the Attorney General from 2007 to 2009.
  • Deputy Public Prosecutor (2003-2007) within the first batch established for the Public Prosecution in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Deputy Public Prosecutor (2001-2003).

Achievements:

  • The Minister obtained the Medal of Efficiency of the First Class,according to Royal Decree No 23, for the year 2016.
  • Executive Director of Parliamentary and Municipal Elections (2010).
  • Chairman of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee for Parliamentary and Municipality Elections (2006).

Education:

  • The Minister holds a Bachelors in Law from Cairo University, ArabRepublic of Egypt and a Masters in Business Administration from the Kingdom University, Kingdom of Bahrain
