Speakers H.E. Mr. Murali Pillai SC

Senior Minister of State Murali Pillai was appointed as Senior Minister of State for Law and Transport in 2025, after serving as Minister of State for Law and Transport since July 2024.   

 

He holds a LLB (Hons) and LLM from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and a double MBA degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and NUS.    

Senior Minister of State Pillai started his career as a regular senior police officer with the Singapore Police Force in 1992. In 1996, he started practising law in the private sector focussing on civil and criminal litigation.  He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2020.  

 

He also served as Chairperson of the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) for Home Affairs and Law, member of GPC for Social and Family Development, and member of the National Committee of Prevention, Rehabilitation and Recidivism.
