Court of Appeal Judge & Judge in Charge of the Digital Economy Court

DIFC Court of Appeal and Head of the Digital Economy Court

In July 2022 His Excellency Justice Michael Black KC was appointed as a judge of DIFC Court of Appeal and Head of the Digital Economy Court.

 

He divides his time between his judicial duties and sitting as arbitrator.

 

The Legal 500 2024 states, “As an arbitrator, he is exceptionally fair, measured and thoughtful, whilst remaining utterly charming towards the parties. He is a consummate professional who is at the top of his game as an arbitrator, with decades of experience in complex commercial disputes all around the world.”

 

Justice Black  has been a commercial arbitration practitioner for nearly half a century and has sat as arbitrator for the last 35 years. The geographical focus of his arbitration practice is London, the MENA region, India and Singapore.

  • Registration Fees: Once paid, event registration fees are non-refundable, non-cancellable, and non-transferable. Fees are valid exclusively for entry to RIDW25.
  • Promotional Codes: Any promotional codes are personal to the individual or entity to whom they were provided and are non-transferable. Individuals or entities other than those specified are ineligible to apply or use these promotions. The Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) and the RIDW25 Organizing Committee reserve the right to deny or cancel the registration and entry of anyone who attempts to use a promotion for which they are not eligible. Paid amounts will not be refunded if denied or canceled registrations
  • Media Consent: By attending any RIDW24 event, you waive any rights to object to your appearance in media coverage related to the event, including photos, videos, and television. This applies whether captured directly by the event host or by other media present.
