Karim Mariey is Partner in the Riyadh Construction and Engineering group. He advises owners and contractors on the resolution of disputes arising out of international construction and engineering projects and has experience in litigation, arbitration and mediation. Karim also sits as arbitrator in construction and commercial arbitrations in the MENA region. Fluent in both Arabic and English, Karim specializes in complex disputes arising in the Arab Middle East. Notably, he has advised a Middle Eastern government on disputes related to the construction of new international and regional airports under various FIDIC contracts. He has also represented employers in International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitrations concerning residential developments and hotels in the Middle East, as well as infrastructure projects including bridges in Africa and breakwaters in Iraq. Karim is also regularly instructed as project counsel, supporting clients in the administration of their projects. In addition to his work as counsel and arbitrator, Karim has been appointed as the ICC YAAF Representative for KSA and is regularly invited to speak and write on construction law and arbitration topics.
