Dr. Emad Hussein is a Senior Research Fellow at the Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy (SIDRA), specializing in international dispute resolution, commercial arbitration, and mediation. With over 20 years of experience, he has contributed to legal training and capacity-building initiatives across the UAE, Gulf States, and the Middle East.
An accredited mediator with CEDR (London), SIMI, and IMI, Dr. Hussein also mediates at the World Bank’s Compliance Advisory Ombudsman (CAO). As an independent arbitrator, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and is empanelled with major arbitration centers, including ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, AAA-ICDR, ADCCAC, and DIAC, serving as Chairman, Sole Arbitrator, and Co-Arbitrator in domestic and international disputes. He has designed and led mediation programs across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Morocco, Libya, and Egypt.
Dr. Hussein holds dual PhDs—one in International Commercial Arbitration (SOAS, University of London) and another in International Business Management (ISM, New York)—along with LLMs from Newcastle University (Mediation & International Commercial Dispute Resolution) and Queen Mary University of London (International Arbitration).
