At the GCLO, Abbas Khan is responsible for managing the legal (legal risk assessment, legal policies and strategizing and implementing legal risk mitigation) and corporate affairs functions for ABH and all of its subsidiaries.

Abbas is a highly experienced corporate / transactional lawyer with more than 18 years of experience in providing strategic advice to the Board of Directors and C-level officers of some of the leading businesses and financial institutions of the world. He is currently heading the legal department of Al Bawani as the Group Chief Legal Officer. Previously, Abbas was a partner at Feras Al Shawaf Law Firm. 

His areas of expertise include construction contracts (and managing all legal issues that arise during the life cycle of a contract), mergers and acquisitions, PPP projects, privatisations, procurements, foreign direct investments, capital markets and private equity, competition / anti-trust law, banking law, general contracts, intellectual property law, general corporate / commercial advisory work, dispute resolution and arbitration.

Having working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for more than 17 years, Abbas is fully acclimatized to the complexities of the legal regime of KSA and brings to the table his eye for detail and the ability to balance the commercial requirements of a transaction against its legal risks.
