Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as Arbitration Seat: Present and Future

Available Seats

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
By request Free

With the amount of foreign investment in the Kingdom, the available dispute resolution mechanisms become crucial to managing business relationships. The reforms and developments in the area have been key to building the image of the Kingdom as an investor-friendly country, with continued commitment to sustainable development, stability and growth. In this context, we will explore, together with our guests, the Kingdom’s standing as an arbitration-friendly seat, including the Kingdom’s arbitration law, arbitration-friendliness of courts (including in terms of setting aside and enforcement data), Shariah law influences on the procedure and application of substantive law, availability of interim relief, enforceability of awards, and other matters crucial to the party’s choice of the seat. The event will be held as a panel discussion with the experts from Baker McKenzie’s teams in the Kingdom and the UAE, as well as guest speakers to be confirmed.
